tneditor@tnonline.com.KunkletownThe Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company will hold an open house from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at the firehouse, 597 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown. Events include a display of fire apparatus, car rescue demonstration, safety smokehouse and rides on a firetruck. Free refreshments will be available.TamaquaThe Tamaqua Fire Department will hold a fire prevention program at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Tamaqua Elementary School and 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 at St. Jerome Regional School.NesquehoningThe Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1 will hold three programs at the Panther Valley Elementary School on Oct. 10. Times for the programs are 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. Apparatus will be on display in the rear of the building.
