An elderly Schuylkill County couple escaped injury Saturday after failing to obey a stop sign on Route 25 in Frailey Township, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.

Melvin E. Filler, 82, Walkersville, was driving at 6 a.m. when he went through the stop sign at the exit ramp of I-81. His car broke through the guardrail that separates the east and westbound lanes of Route 25, spun, struck the guardrail again, spun again and finally stopped in a wooded area.Filler and his passenger, Esther E. Filler, also 82, both wearing lap and shoulder belts, came through the incident uninjured.
