A Carbon County resident is the victim of a theft incident in which a Luzerne County woman has been charged.

State police at Hazleton said Sheila Gimbi of Holly Lynn Drive in Hazle Township stole the Visa MoneyPak debit card of George Shipps, of Coxeville Road, Beaver Meadows, from his toolbox at Pro-shift Transmission, located along Route 93, just south of the Carbon County line in Banks Township. The theft was reported at 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 9.Troopers said Gimbi transferred the card, which had a value of $160, into her name and used it to purchase tires and other miscellaneous merchandise.Gimbi has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and access device fraud. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Joseph D. Homanko of Weatherly.
