A Grier City man was arrested by Rush Township Police in connection with a domestic assault.

Austin Barrett, 31, was arraigned before District Judge David Rossi of Tremont on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct earlier this month after he reportedly pushed his girlfriend to the floor, straddled her and began choking her to the point where she almost passed out.Bail was set at $25,000 straight, which Barrett was unable to post. He was jailed in the Schuylkill County Prison.
