Healing ministry of St. Francis of Assisi ChurchSt. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning extends a personal invitation to anyone struggling with the grief process in the loss of a loved one recently, or a loss of many years ago.The Fall Seasons Bereavement Group will begin on Oct. 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the parish library. Sessions will continue for six weeks and are strictly confidential.Registration is free but required so there is enough material for everyone.Call the rectory at 570-669-6321 or Valerie Higgins at 570-668-2386.VFW Ladies AuxiliaryThe next regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will be held beginning at 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Post Home.Plans will be made for the Veterans Day Parade, which will be hosted by Nesquehoning on Nov. 9.The sign-up sheet for Buddy Poppy King and Queen is posted at the Post Home.Children and grandchildren of members ages 4 to 12 are eligible and must be available for the Veterans Day Parade in November.Dues for 2015 are now payable.Members are encouraged to attend this meeting.
