Rush-Ryan seniors

The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met Sept. 9 at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville. New member Mary Ann Laughlin was welcomed.The business session was conducted by President Eleanor Schmerfeld. Reports were offered by treasurer Shirley Becker and secretary Ruth Ann Feane.Birthday greetings were offered to Rose Vallee, Marlene Randig, Jane Tartar and Robert Neifert. Anniversary wishes were extended to Cindy Godanis. Members discussed a trip to the Bloomsburg Fair on Monday.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the fire company. The next regular meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Owl Creek hayridesThe Owl Creek Reservoir Commission is back in full swing after repairs were completed at the Owl Creek Dam. The group is busy planning its annual Fall Foliage celebration, which is scheduled for Oct. 26.Festivities will be held from noon to 5 p.m., but the popular hayrides will not begin until 2 p.m. In addition to the hayrides, there will be pumpkin and face painting and a campfire for roasting marshmallows.Food and refreshments will be available.For more information, call 570-668-5066.Open houseOpen House at the Tamaqua Area Senior High School will be held today, beginning at 7 p.m. Parents should report to their student's home room.Bethany ECThe Rev.
