Responders on scene of Tamaqua three-car crash

Traffic on Route 309 northbound in Tamaqua is being rerouted after a three-car collision.

Emergency responders were dispatched at 6 p.m. to the 200 block of Pine Street for a report of a multiple-vehicle crash with injuries.

The incident involved a Chevrolet Cavalier, Jeep Liberty and a third unnamed vehicle, with cars ending up on both sides of the road.

Airbags deployed and one passenger was thrown into the windshield.

However, police said all drivers and occupants refused medical treatment at the scene.

Responding were the Tamaqua Fire Department, Tamaqua Rescue, Tamaqua Community Ambulance and Tamaqua fire police.

Flatbed haulers were summoned from Ziegler's Towing, Tamaqua, and Krajcirik's Automotive, Lansford, to remove the vehicles.

Police indicated charges will be filed.

The investigation is underway with details to come.
