A Weatherly driver was injured when he fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and crashed.

State police at Hazleton said Robert E. Sims, 30, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic northbound on Stockton Mountain Road in Hazle Township, Luzerne County, at 6:55 a.m. on Sept. 8 when he fell asleep. The vehicle went onto the berm and into a wooded area, where it struck two trees.Sims sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. Damages were disabling to the front end of the Honda.
