Palmerton and Northern Lehigh both scored field hockey wins in league play of Friday.

FIELD HOCKEYSalisbury-PalmertonPalmerton handed Salisbury a 4-0 shutout win in Colonial League action.Steph Brinker scored an unassisted first half goal to give the Lady Bombers the 1-0 halftime lead.In the second, Brinker picked up where she left off, recording another unassisted goal, and as followed by Macie Hourt's tally. Nicole Generose had 23 assists, three kills and an ace for a well-rounded effort for the winners.Katie Higgins led Lehighton with 19 digs, four kills and an ace.Northwestern also pulled out the JV game in three sets for the sweep on the day.Pleasant Valley-EastonEaston handled Pleasant Valley in three straight sets 25-17, 25-18, 25-17.The Lady Bears, who fall to 4-1 on the season, received good games from Noel Kelly with eight kills and four blocks and Bridget Lozier, who tallied five kills and three blocks. Meanwhile, Kalli Walling contributed 16 digs, while Alli Markowski had 10 digs and 12 assists.BOYS SOCCERNorthwestern-Saucon ValleyNorthwestern pulled out a hard-fought 1-0 win over Saucon Valley.Thomas Creighton scored the game's lone goal and it proved to be the game winner.The Tigers outshot the Panthers 5-1 in the contest, with Kyle Bellhorn saving one shot for the shutout.Meanwhile, Matt Smith had four saves for the Panthers.No, Dame GP-Northern LehighNotre Dame of Green Pond returned home with a 4-0 shutout of Northern Lehigh in Colonial League play.Francesco Mowrey scored two goals for the winners, while Joey Maldonado and Ryan Pfeiffer both scored a goal apiece. Mason Hudnall had four saves for Pen Argyl.GIRLS SOCCERSaucon Valley-NorthwesternSaucon Valley made their shots count, as they defeated Northwestern 3-2.Paige Jones scored first for the Lady Panthers and Celia Heenan notched another to take a 2-1 halftime lead over the Lady Tigers. Northwestern received their first goal from Lydia Danner to keep it close.In the second, the Panthers took a 3-1 lead off a Sarah Savant score, before Northwestern's Sabrina Mertz ensued shortly after with the game's final tally.Northwestern challenged the goal frequently, as they outshot their opponents 22-6 in the game. However, Helen Ross stopped eight shots on goal in the winning effort.No. Lehigh-Notre Dame GPNotre Dame GP defeated Northern Lehigh, 10-0 in Colonial League action.Julie Romich led the Lady Crusaders with three goals and two assists in the game, while teammate Taylor Irr scored a hat trick, as well. Meaghan McMullan scored two goals and assisted another, while Laura Sarria scored a goal and fed a teammate for another. Maddie Talijan scored the remaining goal for the winners, while Katie Aquilina and Olivia Simone both had two assists. Dana Pfeiffer and Lexi Fabey both notched assists.M'Kenna Murphy stopped five shots on goal for the winners in the shutout, as well.Palmerton-Pen ArgylMonica Wood scored four goals and Brinn Doherty two to account for the 6-0 Palmerton win over Pen Argyl in a Colonial League rout.The Blue Bombers held a 20-9 edge in shots in the game.
