An Albrightsville woman is the victim of fraud.

State police at Fern Ridge say the woman was asked to participate in a "mystery shoppers club" via email. She was sent a check for $1,700, which was deposited into her checking account. She was then told to buy $1,500 in green dot MoneyPak cards from Walmart. She scanned the numbers to an email address which had been given to her.The scammers then canceled the $1,700 check, leaving the victim out the money. The scam was reported at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 10.
