Man charged following traffic stop

Joseph Moyer, 61, of 701 E. Ridge St., Lansford, faces charges from an incident that happened at Patterson and Chestnut streets in the borough.

He's charged with two counts of driving under the influence, driving without a license, and driving without headlights.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Joseph Reis, here's what happened:On July 18, Reis was on patrol when he saw a vehicle being driven without headlights. He stopped the car in the 500 block of East Patterson and saw the driver's eyes were red and glassy. The driver took a long time gathering his documentation, and fumbled as he did so. Reis asked him if he had had any alcohol or drugs, and the driver, identified as Moyer, said no. He said he did not have his license, and Reis noticed his speech was slurred.Moyer took a field sobriety test but stopped and told Reis to take him for a blood test. The test revealed the presence of methamphetamine and amphetamine.
