Both are charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Brian is also charged with possession of a controlled substance. It was not clear how or whether the two are related.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek by Lansford officer Joshua Tom, here's what happened:At 7:25 p.m. that day, Tom and officer Jason Helmer were on patrol when they saw the men with Kyle Nalesnik and an unidentified female. The group was acting suspiciously near a house and seemed nervous.Tom noted in the affidavit that the group, except for the female, are all known drug users and dealers. They attempted to flee in different directions when they saw the officers approaching.Tom got out of the cruiser and walked toward the group that was headed west. Helmer walked toward those headed east.Tom saw Michael Kieffer Jr. walking down West Patterson Street toward him. He asked Kieffer what they were doing in that driveway when none of them lived there. Kieffer said they were talking to a female whose newspapers he used to deliver.Tom asked if he had anything with him, and Kieffer said he had a small amount of marijuana. Kieffer agreed to a search, and Tom found empty heroin packets in his wallet. He took Brian Kieffer into custody for possessing marijuana. They told police they stay with a succession of friends.
