Travis Litts, 28, of 211 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, faces charges of two counts of simple assault and harassment from an incident that happened at his home.
Litts remains in Carbon County prison under $1,500 bail.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford by officer Joshua Tom, here's what happened:At 12:30 a.m. Aug. 21, police were called to a domestic dispute at Litts' apartment. Police had had previous incidents involving the couple. As they approached, they stood on the sidewalk and could hear Litts and his girlfriend through an open window arguing about Litts having her cellphone. Litts was yelling at her for shooting him up with heroin.Tom wrote they heard Litts hitting his girlfriend, and her begging him to stop."We could hear slaps and punches from the street," Tom wrote.Police ran into the building and knocked on the door. Litts' girlfriend answered, crying and holding her head. They took Litts into custody and arrested him for domestic violence.Litts appeared to be under the influence of heroin or a combination of drugs. His girlfriend told police he had slapped and punched her.Litts admitted doing that, but refused to give police a written statement.
