Lehighton gets grant for park upgrades

Rep. Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) and Sen. John Yudichak (D-Luzerne/Carbon/Monroe) announced the awarding of $245,000 to Lehighton Borough. The funding will be used to make pedestrian improvements to the Colonel Jacob Weiss Park and it comes from PennDOT's Multimodal Transportation Fund.

PennDOT awarded a total of $40 million in grants through the program. It is open to a wide variety of entities, including municipalities, counties, school districts, businesses, nonprofits and transportation.
