A Schuylkill County driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:50 a.m. on Monday along Route 443 in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Vicky L. Stripe, 36, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala eastbound when she fell asleep at the wheel. Stripe woke up suddenly as her vehicle struck a utility pole along the berm. Upon impact the car spun clockwise and came to rest blocking the eastbound lane.Stripe was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville, for treatment of injuries. The car had to be towed from the scene.Stripe was cited for the crash, troopers added.
