John Raymond Schmidt, 66, of Kunkletown, has been arrested by state police at the Lehighton barracks on a charge of theft.

Police said the charge stems from an incident that was reported to them at noon Thursday.The victim, Robert Schmidt, 68, of 295 Memorial Drive, Polk Township, told police John Schmidt trespassed onto his property and took nine "no trespassing" signs and proceeded to burn the signs.
