A Schuylkill County woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday near Tamaqua.

State police at Frackville said Jenna L. Milkovits, 40, of Tamaqua, and Christina M. Micholik, 20, of Middleport, were both southbound on Route 209 in Walker Township at 7:06 p.m.Micholik attempted to pass Milkovits and while doing so Milkovits turned left into the oncoming lane. Milkovits' 2013 Ford Escape struck the passenger side of Micholik's 2008 Ford Focus. After impact the Focus traveled southwest onto the northbound shoulder and came to rest facing south. The Escape traveled southwest off the road and into a grass field where it came to rest.Milkovits sustained a moderate injury, troopers said, and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale by Tamaqua ambulance. Micholik was not injured.Assisting at the scene were volunteers from the Tuscarora Fire Company and East End Fire Company of Tamaqua, and the Tamaqua Rescue Squad.
