West End Fair seeks support for addition

Norm Burger, a West End Fair director from Chestnuthill Township, asked the Chestnuthill Township board of supervisors for a letter of support at the Tuesday night meeting. He said the fair office is working under cramped conditions for meetings and functions, and they would like to enlarge it.

"The West End Fair Association is made up from the six townships in our area, and we have six directors from each. When we have meetings, it gets pretty cramped. We wish to put on an addition to the building. We've been setting aside money annually, but it's been suggested we seek an LSA grant," he said."Besides the fair, almost every weekend we have people or organizations that use the grounds. We'd like to see them stay active and not discourage them. To assist us, we're asking the townships that are affiliated with the fair to provide us with a letter of support in acquiring these funds," Burger said. The board voted 2-0 to approve writing a letter of support.
