Tamaqua man facing charges

A Tamaqua man, who fled his vehicle instead of responding to police, has been cited by Rush Township police.

Anthony J. Napolitano, 29, was driving on Claremont Avenue at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 when he was told to pull over. Instead, Napolitano stopped, abandoned the vehicle in the middle of the roadway and ran off. He was captured in the parking lot of the Turkey Hill Minit Mart.In addition to charges of resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses, police charged him with endangering the welfare of his 8-year-old daughter, who he left in the car when he ran.
