No one injured when car hits bear

A driver and three passengers escaped injuries when a vehicle in which they were occupants struck a black bear at 8:03 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said Robert A. Locicero, 48, of Butler, New Jersey, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound in the area of mile marker 279.6 when it struck the bear after it entered into the lane of travel.Police did not say whether or not the bear was injured or killed.With Locicero at the time were Amanda Locicero, 47, and two boys, ages 13 and 15, all from Butler. Police said all four occupants were wearing their lap and shoulder belts at the time.
