A 38-year-old Tamaqua man was cited for shoplifting from the Family Dollar Store, at 137 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

Officers were dispatched to the store at 7:12 p.m. on Aug. 15 and spoke with Lowell V. Schmerfeld, who admitted stealing a candle and putting it in his pocket.He was cited for retail theft.
