Weatherly man admits stealing power tools, DUI

A Weatherly man admitted to his part in the theft of valuable tools and also to a drunken driving charge.

Brandon J. Zeigler, 23, entered the pleas on Tuesday before Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika.Zeigler admitted his part in the entry of the residence of Mark Kunkle, 319 Third St., Weatherly, on May 1 and removing various power tools valued at over $2,800.Zeigler was stopped by Hazleton city police in a stolen car, and one of the missing power tools was found in the vehicle. He admitted his part in the theft and said he sold the tools for cash.He was arrested for drunken driving on Sept. 30, 2013, by Weatherly police along First Street. Given a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.Zeigler is currently in the Luzerne County prison facing other charges.Matika deferred sentencing to a later date.
