Slatington celebrates 150th birthday

Slatington celebrated its 150th anniversary today with a parade.

Here, the Woodland String Band, Philadelphia, marches down Main Street in Slatington on Saturday to the delight of hundreds lining the sidewalk. "The Slate Capital of America" capped its 150th birthday with a gala parade featuring the theme "Past, Present and Future," closing a week-long celebration.
