A Miller-Keystone Blood Drive is held every Wednesday, from noon to 6 p.m., at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville. For an appointment call 1-800-223-6667. Walk-ins are welcome.Women's club speakerThe Western Pocono Women's Club will honoring Jake Sarwar of Saylorsburg when it meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Jake was the club's 2014 representative at the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar in May and will be sharing his experiences at the meeting.He is the son of Mohammad and Maria Sarwar of Saylorsburg.The Western Pocono Women's Club meets at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, March through December, at the Effort United Methodist Church on Merwinsburg Road in Effort. There will be no 8 a.m. Mass on Thursday.Help neededRoss Township will be the recipient of a Playworld Systems "Nuvo" playground structure being donated to the township as a memorial to the events of last year. The initial step is to accept delivery which is scheduled for Friday morning. Volunteers are needed to assist in the unloading.
