The search is on for a burglar who stole items from a Monroe County home.

State police at Lehighton said that sometime between 5 p.m. July 31 and 10 p.m. Aug. 8, an unknown person gained entry into the home at 521 Lower Middle Creek Road in Polk Township, owned by Ronald John Simms, 67.Entry was gained into the house through the rear door. Once inside the house, the burglar went into the living room and removed a 30/30 Marlin with a scope, a Smithfield 12-gauge shotgun, and a Mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun with a deer barrel.The burglar fled the scene in an unknown direction.Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact state police at 610-681-1850.
