Four injured in Schuylkill crash

Four persons were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 4:05 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Route 209 (Bunting Street), and the Minersville-Llewellyn Highway, in Branch Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Marie A. Nye, 75, of Kaska, was stopped in a 2004 Dodge Stratus for a stop sign on 209 and pulled out into the path of a 2007 Ford Focus driven north on the Minersville-Llewellyn highway by Alicia A. Williams, 26, of Tremont. The front of the Dodge struck the passenger side of the Ford.Nye and her passenger, Donna M. Nye, 54, of Kaska, and Williams and her passenger, Benjamin T. Menning, 25, of Minersville, were all taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment of unknown injuries.Nye was cited for a stop sign violation, troopers said.
