August 9, 1971 George Forster pitches a one-hitter to help Tamaqua gain a 5-2 victory over Coaldale in the Panther Valley Little League tournament. Forster loses his no-hit bid in the sixth inning. Steve Houser leads the way offensively with three hits, one of them a two-run single. Greg Rottet adds two hits, including a two-run double while Joe Holmberg contributes a pair of hits and two runs scored. The winners also receive two RBIs from John Tracy and a hit and run scored from Terry Knoblauch.
