Schuylkill County Master Gardeners will offer a free learning experience for county residents to learn more about how vegetables go from the fields to the dinner table.The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 23 at Hope Hill Lavender Farm, 2375 Panther Valley Road in Pottsville.The event will feature things such as vegetable container gardening and crafting gourd birdhouses.To learn more, go to

The two-part program is being offered to residents age 50 and older and will be held Sept. 25 and Oct. 1 at the Majestic House Apartment Complex, 201 E. Broad St.Participants should plan to attend both sessions, as they offer different helpful advice on ways to raise participants' knowledge of falls, introduce steps to reduce falls, and improve health and well-being.
