An area basketball team, sponsored by Seitz Bros. and Blazosky Funeral Home, recently captured the championship of a women's basketball league based in Schuylkill County. The eight-week league, played at Pottsville's Barefield Center, consisted of 12 teams throughout Schuylkill County and surrounding areas. After beating Bloomsburg University Alumni in the semifinals, the Tamaqua based team defeated members of the Bloomsburg University women's team, 44-42, in the title game. Members of team, include, from left, Trish O'Gurek, Kelly Shober, Amy Zehner, Tricia McElmoyle, Libby Shober, Sue Lynn, and Erika Davis. Also on the team are Kayla Hope, Maria Streisel and Kristin Black.
