Joy elected to controllers' board

The Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers elected Christy Joy, Schuylkill County Controller, to their executive board as the third vice president.

The election was held at the board's annual meeting in Gettysburg.Shelley Whitcomb, PSACC executive director, said, "Christy will be a great asset to the executive board, and to the entire association. He has taken on the role of 'fiscal watchdog' in Schuylkill County with great dedication, and I look forward to working with him as a member of the board."The PSACC is a statewide association whose goal is to address specific challenges that face the county controllers, advocate on their behalf, and encourage collaboration while advancing members' professional development. PSACC comprises county controllers from 38 counties across the state, their deputies, solicitors and staff. It strives to educate and inform its membership, and to be a resource for and about county controllers. In his new role, Joy will join the rest of the executive board in coordinating PSACC activities, and assisting his counterparts in other counties with their specific needs, among other duties. "I'm very honored to be recognized as a leader of elected officials whose goal is to provide greater transparency and efficiency and less fraud and waste," Christy said."This organization shares its struggles and triumphs. I would not be as effective as I am without the PSACC."
