PV grad Gene Snisky in TV wrestling match

Professional wrestler Gene Snisky, a native of Nesquehoning who wrestled for World Wrestling Entertainment under the name "Snitsky," will be featured in a bout on Total Nonstop Action wrestling on Thursday.

TNA is a competitor of the WWE.Snisky makes a cameo appearance as part of a team put together by villanous owner Dixie Carter.Following the bout, Carter has a confrontation with wrestler Bully Dudley, who threatens to harm her.It's one of only two appearances on TNA for Snisky. He did appear briefly on the program last Thursday.TNA Wrestling is aired on the Spike TV network.Snisky is a graduate of Panther Valley High School where he was an outstanding athlete, including a football player.He had played college football at the University of Missouri and was on the pre-season roster in 1995 for the Birmingham Barracudas of the Canadian Football League.He then embarked on a professional wrestling career, competing for various promotions until he signed with the WWE in 2004.He remained with WWE until 2008, having several championship matches and competing against such superstars as John Cena and Kane.His final match with the WWE was in November 2008 when he lost to CM Punk. After that, he competed for several other independent organizations.Snisky periodically can be seen wrestling on the WXW wrestling programs which air on weekends on Blue Ridge Communication TV 13.He presently lives in Orwigsburg.
