State police at Lehighton reported the arrest of two drivers at a DUI checkpoint operation which was conducted Thursday along Maury Road near Route 903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Michael Beseda, 32, of Wilkes-Barre, was stopped at the checkpoint at 7:28 p.m. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.At about the same time a 17-year-old male from Zionsville, Lehigh County, entered the checkpoint. He was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and had in his possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
