State Sen. David Argall will speak to the Lehighton 9/12 Project on property tax reform at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Lehighton American Legion Post.

A general meeting of the Lehighton 9/12 Project will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Legion.State Rep. Doyle Heffley will also be present.Sandy Dellecker, president of the 9/12 Project, said Argall will explain myths and facts of Senate Bill 76.For example, she said a myth is that SB 76 prevents school districts from raising revenues on their own.She said the fact is that SB 76 lets local school districts retain the ability to raise revenues through income taxes or other means (except property taxes) and requires voter approval for any new taxes or tax increases they propose.Dellecker said the Legion will be open for serving food beginning at 5 p.m.
