Man admits role in theft of TV
A Lehighton man admitted his part in the theft of a television and jewelry in Carbon County court on Monday. He was one of three defendants to enter a guilty plea in pending criminal cases before Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Jefferson, 22, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy-theft, as a felony three.He admitted his part in the entry of the home of Scott Ritter, 1650 Orioles Drive, in Mahoning Township, on Dec. 11, 2012, and taking a big-screen television and various jewelry. The jewelry was later pawned by Jefferson. A co-defendant in the case is Justin P. Mooney.Jefferson said he had a drug problem at the time but addressed it by entering the Teen Challenge program for 15 months.Serfass sentenced him to serve nine to one day less 24 months in the county prison with credit for 64 days spent in jail and the 15 months inpatient in the teen program, meaning Jefferson was immediately paroled.He was also ordered to make restitution of $1,315.10, his share of the total, supply a DNA sample, and render 100 hours of community service.Dietrik Ryan Hosier, 24, of Northampton, and formerly of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of disorderly conduct as a summary offense. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dropped in a plea bargain.Hosier was arrested on March 11 in the area of 341 S. Second St. by Lehighton police. Hosier is currently serving a prison term for a probation violation.Serfass imposed a fine of $300.Jesse Krum, 22, of Lehighton, pleaded to attempting to submit a urine sample that was not his to the probation office on Oct. 18, 2013.He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a D&A evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
