Two incidents at Tamaqua Family Dollar

Tamaqua Police cited two people on Saturday after separate incidents at the Family Dollar Store at 137 N. Railroad St.

At 1 p.m., officers were called to the store for a retail theft committed by Amanda Lillian Ramirez, 25, of 224 First St. Coaldale. Store personnel told the officer that Ramirez had been in the store for about 30 minutes and was observed placing items in her purse. She then purchased a box of cereal, but failed to pay for the other items, valued at $26.28.Ramirez was cited for retail theft and banned from all Family Dollar Stores in Schuylkill and Carbon counties, and signed a form acknowledging that ban.Officers returned to the store at 5:59 p.m., where employees had detained Terry Lou Sell, 33, of 14 S. Lehigh St., Tamaqua. Sell was observed placing a package of tampons in his pants.He was cited for retail theft (second offense) and receiving stolen property.
