Tamaqua men cited for disorderly conduct

Three men were cited by Tamaqua Police on Tuesday after a confrontation in the 300 block of West Broad Street.

Officers were called to the area at 11:15 p.m. after neighbors complained about a group of males causing a disturbance.After speaking with several neighbors, officers determined a group of people had been walking in the area, being very noisy. One of the neighbors opened a window and yelled for them to be quiet. At that point, three members of the group began screaming back, offering to fight the resident. One member of the group had a metal bar (rebar) he kept banging on the sidewalk, threatening to use it against the complainants.Two of the males fled when they saw the police car approaching, but were caught running from the scene by another officer.The suspects were identified as Terry Lou Sell, 33, and James Hessler, 30, both of 14 S. Lehigh St., Tamaqua, and a 15-year-old male. The teen is identified as the one with the piece of rebar.All three were cited for disorderly conduct.
