July 25, 1981 Bruce Matalavage's two-run homer in the top of the 11th inning lifts the Tamaqua Travelers to an 11-9 win over Reeders in Pocono Mountain League action. Reeders gets the tying runs on base in the bottom of the 11th but Dave Malkin comes on in relief to end the threat and earn the save. Greg Rottet collects three hits, one a homer, and knocks in five runs for the winners while Matalavage finishes with four hits. Mark Rother allows 12 hits but pitches 10-plus inning for the victory.
