Committee holds election for five spots

The Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services will be holding an election for five low-income representatives to its board of directors at its administrative office at 267 S. Second St. in Lehighton.

Eligible voters may cast a ballot without appointment between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday through Friday during the three-week period beginning July 28 and ending Aug. 15.To be eligible to vote, a person must have an annual household income at or below 125 percent of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines as follows: family size one, $14,587; family size two, $19,662; family size three, $24,737; family size four, $29,812; and for each additional member add $5,075.Voters will be required to sign and date a self-declaration of voter eligibility before casting a ballot. Eligible homebound people interested in casting a ballot should call 610-377-6400 (ext. 221) before Aug. 1 for other voting accommodations.
