High school parking

The Tamaqua Area School District will have 67 parking spaces available for senior class members for the 2014-2015 school year. Applications are now available in the senior high school office. Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday.Completed forms must be returned to the senior high office no later than Aug. 7.A lottery will be held Aug. 11 to determine which students receive a parking permit as well as space assignments. Students will then be notified by mail. Permits will be issued from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 18.Musical alumniThe Tamaqua Area Community Theatre will present the first Annual Schuylkill County Musicians Alumni Showcase Saturday at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.The performance will feature local alumni musicians, including Steven Christ, Kelly Pleva, Ivan Munoz, Steven Moyer, Cassidy Conroy, Damian Munoz and Morgan Rismiller.Performances will be held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.Library newsThe Tamaqua Public Library will be hosting a Family Board Game Day from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Visitors to the library will have the opportunity to join with others in playing some of the most popular board games.The library's annual book sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 2.
