New Ringgold man facing charges

Dominic Chickilly, 23, of 684 Arrow Road in New Ringgold, has been cited by Tamaqua police.

Chickilly was driving north on Route 309 at 11:02 a.m. on July 9, in the area of Owl Creek Road, when an officer timed him traveling 64 mph in a 45 zone. The officer followed Chickilly's Volvo until traffic came to a standstill beyond the Hess gas station.As the officer exited his cruiser, a tractor-trailer driver contacted him, saying he witnessed the "driver of the Volvo throwing something red or orange out of the window." He also said the Volvo cut him off, almost causing an accident.As one officer arrested Chickilly, another went with the trucker to the spot where he said the object had been thrown. They found a syringe with an orange cap. The Volvo was then searched, with the driver's consent.Chickilly was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, littering, speeding and careless driving.
