Carbon club cited by liquor board

A Carbon County club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the liquor code.

St. Gabriel's Club, 121 Market St., Summit Hill, was cited for a violation on June 4, in which the club possessed or operated devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises.This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to imposed penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
