The Anthracite team has picked up five wins in the Panther Valley 11-2 Little League tournament.

Anthracite-LansfordAnthracite came back from an early deficit to beat Lansford, 8-2.Andrew Surotchak gave Lansford an early lead when he singled and scored on a double by Julian.Megan Pascoe's two-run double gave Anthracite some life in the second and it rolled to the win.Bryan Smith added a three-run homer for Anthracite.Josh Robin, the winning pitcher, also added a double.Anthracite-Franklin BlueAfter a loss to Tamaqua Blue, Anthracite shut out Franklin Township Blue, 10-0.Jake Taras, Derek Pavlik and Chuckie Byers combined their mound duties to hold the Blue to three hits.Joshua Horvath had a two-run base hit. Josh Robin and Bryan Smith had three-run homers for the winners..Anthracite-Franklin GrayAnthracite then played host to Franklin Township Grey and used a two-run walk-off home run by Josh Robin to pull out a 4-2 win.Both teams scored early and took a 2-2 score into the sixth inning.Bryan Smith led off the inning with an inadvertent swing which he was able to leg out into a single. Robin stepped to the plate where with one swing of the bat, ended a great contest between two evenly matched teams with the homerun.Anthracite-JT RedAnthracite came from behind to pull out a 19-11 win over Jim Thorpe Red.After jumping out to a three-run lead in the top of the first, Anthracite watched JT Red bounce back in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-3 lead.Anthracite trailed 9-4 before batting around in the fourth inning to tie the score.Chuckie Byers hit a towering two-run homer to eventually put Anthracite up 14-9Matt Santore also added his first home run of the seasonfor Anthracite.Aaron Miller was the winning pitcher.Tamaqua White (12)-AnthraciteAnthracite battled back and came away with a 6-5 win over Tamaqua White. Tamaqua jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first.Pierce Demetriodes scored on a hit by Matt Gazdick, and Lucas Gregoire drove him home. Nate Filloy's double scored Gregiore.Anthracite battled back with a Phil Shelton, homer and tied it up in the third on a Matt Santore two-RBI hit.Luke Mateyak and Matt Gazdick hit home runs to give Tamaqua a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the 6th.Josh Horvath and Shawn Hoben worked walks, starting Anthracite's rally.Josh Robin's ground-rule double drove in the tying run. Robin scored the winning run when Jake Taras stepped to the plate and drove in the winning run. Taras was also the winning pitcher.
