Victim: Fake cop pulled a gun

State police at Lehighton are seeking a police impersonator following an incident that occurred last Friday.

Troopers said a white female reported at 4:20 p.m. she was traveling out of Slatington and made a left onto Route 248 heading toward Palmerton when a white male stopped her.She told troopers the male was of medium build, between 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, military-style haircut, clean-shaven, wearing black sunglasses with yellow earpieces, and a black polo short-sleeve shirt with a silver badge with "police" on the left side of the shirt. He was wearing black pants with a yellow stripe down the sides and a possible duty belt with a left-handed holster and a silver revolver in the holster.The victim said the male approached her vehicle and asked her for her vehicle registration, driver's license and proof of insurance. The male requested the paperwork items three times, and on the third request he unholstered his weapon and stated to the victim, "Do I have to use this?"At this point the female fled the area and then called state police.The suspect was driving a black Dodge Charger with no tint. The driver-side ground effect near the fog light was broken off, and the vehicle had a blue dashlight on thedashboard.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
