July 22, 1947 Lou Higgins belts two home runs and knocks in six runs to lead Nesquehoning to a 17-3 Panther Valley League rout of Seek. Higgins collects three hits in the contest with one of his homers a grand slam. Eddie Becker collects four hits and scores four runs in the 19-hit onslaught while Harry Becker and B. Krajcir each add two hits and score a pair of runs. Nesquehoning also receives two hits and a run from both winning pitcher Paul "Red" Valusek and Frank Hager.
