A benefit, known as "A Cause for the Collins," will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 3 at the McAdoo VFW Post at 16 South Kennedy Drive. A $7 donation will be accepted at the door.

All proceeds benefit the Collins family, whose Lansford home was devastated by a fire last May. Stephanie Collins is a former Beaver Meadows resident. She and her husband, Joseph, have four children ranging from infancy to 8 years old.The event features entertainment from The Kraen Moorehed Band, CroTel and Hooligan, a Chinese auction and a bake sale.
