A Monroe County man has been cited for discharging a weapon in an unsafe manner.

State police at Fern Ridge said Thomas Albert Staehle, 63, of 617 Thunder Road, Stroudsburg, was warned by police on July 4 not to discharge his unloaded muzzleloader into the wooded area behind his residence because he was causing a disturbance.At 9:17 p.m. Staehle was seen by neighbors discharging multiple rounds of ammunition from a pistol into a tree stump. Directly behind the tree stump were residential homes that were separated by trees, troopers said.Staehle was charged with recklessly endangering another person.
