Two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday along Ringtown Boulevard, in West Mahanoy Township.

State police at Frackville said Daniel R. Shields, 30, of Ringtown, and Joseph Iglesias-Rivera, 27, of Kulpmont, were both southbound when Iglesias-Rivera attempted to turn left onto Route 924. Shields failed to stop, with the front of his 2014 Chevrolet Equinox hitting the rear of Iglesias-Rivera's 1999 Honda Civic.Iglesias-Rivera and his passenger, Richard Medina, 31, of Hazleton, were slightly injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton by Shenandoah ambulance.
