Dennis M. Confer, son of Dennis and Lisa Confer of Tamaqua, graduated from the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Commencement ceremonies were held May 23.Confer earned a 4.0 grade point average and was named to the directors honors list. A member of the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society, he earned an "Excellent Attendance Award," was named Student of the Class and served on a NASCAR pit crew.The 2010 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School graduated with honors from Lehigh Carbon Community College in 2013 with an associate degree in education. He is the grandson of Myron and Sandra Frantz of Mantzville.He has accepted a job with FibreWorks Composites in Mooresville, a manufacturer of carbon fiber products, specializing in Indy car seats and NASCAR parts.He will be serving on a pit crew for the July ARCA race at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond.
