Police search for man after armed robbery in Tamaqua

Tamaqua Police have released the details of an armed robbery reported to the department on July 13 and are asking for the public's help in locating the suspect, Cody Deetz, who has no known address.

Police say Deetz went to 109 Washington St., at 5:41 p.m. Sunday and spoke with two juvenile males. He asked the boys, 14 and 16, to go for a walk with him.The trio walked to the wooded area between Washington Street and the railroad tracks. There, according to the juveniles, he pulled out a gun and told them to "empty your pockets." One of the boys handed over $120 in cash and the brothers then ran back home.Deetz is facing charges of robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment and simple assault.A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
