An 8-year-old Bowmanstown youth is facing charges following a reported burglary attempt.

State police at Lehighton said the 8-year-old cut the screens of two windows and one screen door with a large kitchen knife, then used the knife to saw off a door knob on the rear of the home of Stephanie Nichole Pelaez, 25, of 730 Mill St., Bowmanstown.He then fled back to his house, which is near the victim's home.The incident occurred between 6 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on June 23, troopers said.
